Educational methodical work

The strategic direction of the department is educational and methodological work. Educational and methodological work is aimed at improving the methodology, increasing the efficiency and quality of all types of training sessions, the professional level of the teaching staff.
The organization of educational and methodological work at the department involves the development, updating and approval in the prescribed manner of educational and methodological complexes of disciplines and curricula, planning and preparation for the publication of educational and teaching aids, development and updating of the content of the lecture course, improvement of guidelines for practical training , forms of knowledge control, organization and activation of students' independent work, improving the pedagogical skills of the teaching staff of the department.
For each discipline of educational programs (EP), implemented at the department, educational and methodological complexes of disciplines (EMCD) have been developed. EMCD is one of the main documents for the methodological support of the disciplines of the department. The electronic format of the EMCD is posted on the portal http://asu.ukgu.kz for free access by students and control of the degree of provision of EP. Each EMCDincludes a map of the educational and methodological provision of the discipline, which contains basic and additional literature, electronic educational publications, methodological developments of the department located in the library, at the department and in the local network of the university. A map of the educational and methodological security of the discipline is drawn up to determine the level, timely analysis of the educational and methodological security of the discipline and identify the need for the development or acquisition of the necessary educational literature.
Modern educational technologies should contribute to the formation of students' ability to solve a wide range of professional competencies. A necessary condition for the formation of professional competencies is, first of all, the inclusion of students in such learning situations that require them to take active actions to determine the meaning of the studied, to form an indicative basis of educational actions and their use in solving practice-oriented and creative tasks, including - design assignments; tasks requiring search and processing of information, transformation of known and creation of new information, group and individual tasks. In the educational process of the teaching staff of the department, modern active and interactive teaching methods are widely used: problem-situational modeling, business games, group games, case methods, etc. Lectures and practical classes are conducted using an interactive whiteboard with a slide show, using electronic textbooks. Also, virtual laboratory works are used to visually demonstrate and simulate oil refining and petrochemical processes.
