At the Department of Metallurgy in the specialty according to the educational program 6B07220 - Metallurgy, to ensure the professional practice of students according to the curriculum, there are the following types of practice: educational, 1st production, 2nd production and pre-graduate practice. Each practice is conducted within the framework of the curriculum, according to specific disciplines and specializations in development determines the purpose of this practice.

The metallurgical industry for the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the main industries that contribute to improving the competitiveness of the national economy, as well as achieving the sustainability of its development. The metallurgical industry is a strategic branch of the economy of Kazakhstan, and its main role is to provide raw materials for other high-tech and knowledge-intensive sectors of the national economy aimed at the production of final products, including mechanical engineering, construction industry, aviation, space and defense industries.

«ASIAGREENTECH» Limited Liability Partnership (formerly Shymkent Smelting, renamed 2020) is one of the largest enterprises in Shymkent.
The plant was founded in 2016 in the territory of the city of Shymkent, in the industrial zone "Ontustik"
The company processes lead-containing technogenic waste to produce rough lead and rough copper. The annual volume of rough lead is 12,000 tons, rough copper is 1,500 tons, finished products are sent to Ust-Kamenogorsk under the contract.
«ASIAGREENTECH» LLP is a processor of secondary raw materials with the production of non-ferrous metals lead, copper, and it is also planned in the future to produce rare earths: rhenium, selenium and tellurium.
The production of "ASIAGREENTECH" works on imported raw materials: cakes, dust, lead and copper smelters, as well as waste containing lead from Kazakhmys.
The limited Liability Partnership "Ferrum-Vtor" is one of the largest enterprises in Shymkent, producing up to 250 thousand tons per year of steel zagatovka. The plant has been operating since 2006 and is continuously expanding.
The plant has 10-ton induction furnaces and a 15-ton oxygen converter plant for melting steel, an incinerator for continuous steel casting.
The Ferrum Vtor company develops metallurgy of Kazakhstan, continuing new ways of production of rolled metal products, as well as the latest traditional technologies.

At the enterprise, raw materials are melted in 40-ton induction furnaces, and the finishing of steel to the chemical composition is carried out according to the technology of non-furnace processing of steel on AKOS equipment (a complex steel processing unit).
Filling of finished steel on a three-line continuous filling machine (CML). The annual capacity of the CCM is 300 thousand tons per year.
The plant produces steel products of the following grades: ST.4, ST. 5, ST. 60, ST70; sizes of zagatovok: 100 * 100, 150* 150 and 200*200.
A promising deposit for the development of ferrous metallurgy in the south of Kazakhstan is the Abail deposit, which contains 36.9-48.6% iron, pellets are made from these ores in a rotary kiln at a temperature of 10000C and a new technology is being introduced to produce steel by direct restoration of the PVJ gland.
The main raw materials produced by Shymkent Temir LLP are scrap. The accepted metal waste is first sorted, cut in the right amount, and then sent for melting. Cleaner in chemical composition scrap and metal waste are smelted in induction furnaces.

Previously, KAZFERROGROUP LLP produced about 200 tons of ferromanganese per month. These are small volumes even on a national scale. Currently, the plant produces two products - ferrosilicomanganese and ferromanganese.
KAZFERROGROUP LLP plans to build another plant, but with a volume of finished products up to 600 tons per month. Together, the two plants will produce 800 tons of ferroalloys per month.
Raw materials. The following charge materials are used for the production of ferrosilicon: quartzite, coke, semi-coke, steel chips. Quartzite supplied from the Antonovsky mine of the Anzhero-Sudzhensky deposit must comply with (TU-14-5-52-74): SiO297%, Al1.1%. The quartzite of the Ovruchskoye deposit must comply with (TU 14-5-140-82). The coke nut arriving at the plant must meet GOST 8435-77. The steel chips must comply with the requirements of GOST 2787-86. Steel chips No. 1-13A are used.

The production process of blanks is carried out on injection molding machines. Metal injection molding is a method of casting ingots, in which the mold acquires the shape of an ingot by quickly filling the mold. The mixture is formatted into the desired format under high pressure from 7 to 700 MPa.
To protect the product from the harmful effects of the environment and for a beautiful appearance, the product is covered with polymer paint and anti-corrosion coating (galvanization). We use robotic devices for electroplating. And the painting is fully automated, carried out on installations with a special polymerization chamber.
«Taraz Metallurgical Plant» LLP

In order to create a powerful metallurgical industry in the south of Kazakhstan, at the end of 2006, a group of Kazakhstani investors represented by the Central Asian Investment Consulting Company decided to convert the once giant of the chemical industry — Khimprom-2030 LLP from chemical production to metallurgical. The new project was approved by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Taraz Metallurgical Plant LLP was included in the list of breakthrough industrial investment projects of the country, thereby opening a new page in the history of industrial development of Kazakhstan.

Today Taraz Metallurgical Plant is an integrated producer of ferroalloys, electrode mass and phosphorous products. In addition, for the first time in the world, the plant processed the technology of obtaining manganese pellets from substandard manganese and ferromanganese screenings, which significantly expands the range of raw materials and the capabilities of the plant for processing man-made deposits.
