Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after S.Utebayev held the I International Olympiad in Petrochemistry and Oil Refining (in online format) on February 20-21, 2023, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Kazakh scientist, public figure, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Serikov Tuleush Pauedenovich. The Olympiad was attended by students of 2-4 courses, undergraduates of such famous universities as Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Kazan National Research Technical University, Ufa State Petroleum Technical University, Al-Farabi KazNU, K.Satpayev KazNTU, M.Auezov SKU, Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and others, as well as young specialists of oil refining and petrochemical enterprises. Out of more than 100 participants, 40 students and 10 undergraduates entered the 2nd round. According to the results of the 2nd round, Kirill Tkachev, a 1st-year master's student of the Department of "Technology of Inorganic and Petrochemical Industries", took the 3rd prize among undergraduates. According to the results of the competition for program-targeted financing for scientific, scientific and technical programs for 2023-2025, the BR21882181 program "Development of technology for the production of highly efficient materials based on mineral raw materials and man-made waste" won a grant in the amount of 320 million tenge.
