In 2020, M.Auezov SKU for the first time took part in the prestigious Green Metric Ranking of World Universities and took the 458th position,

among Kazakhstani universities the 6th place. Taking part in this world ranking, the university became a member of the international scientific and educational consortium "Green Bridge through Generations", which is a voluntary association of higher educational institutions - participants united by the tasks of training personnel on the principles of sustainable development and "green" economy, development of science and innovative technologies. The founders of the Consortium are the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin (Russia) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Kazakhstan). Our goal of joining the consortium is to increase the efficiency of resource usage through the introduction of environmentally friendly and advanced technologies, restructuring in the structure of the economy and environmental management, scientific substantiation of the recycling and consumption of industrial waste, aiming at the formation of new environmentally responsible behavior patterns and activities in the younger generation, for the introduction of interaction with nature into their daily practice, as well as ensuring an objective scientific approach to the consideration and analysis of modern environmental problems based on interdisciplinarity and systemic differentiation.
